If the world got thousand years of developing, in Vietnam the real-time of getting innovated only started after two dolorous wars, which was eventually ended in 1975 with the victory belonged to the small but courageous Vietnamese and yes this sudden collapse of Saigon in April 1975 set the stage for a new and uncertain chapter in the evolution of Vietnamese society.
Life began again in the places while the traces of the war still existed fragmentally along the country. From ashes everything was built up due to the economic transformation, stores, houses, buildings … among those is Huongmai Café.
In 1980, at a small house in the street of Hang Buom, Hanoi Old Quarter, Huongmai Café by Mrs. Huong Mai was launched. For the initial time, she roasted coffee with small amount to serve for minor consume of the people nearby. At that time, without any means of media but her small shop reputation grew amazingly fast and soon after her name gone widely before herself, with the inherited the technique of roasting traditional Vietnamese coffee from her family, which gave out surprisingly good coffee. Due to the national economic transformation, her family had to move to different places and her customers were no longer found her shop again, but it was such a miracle that her name had gone before herself, the trademark of Huongmai Café was spread out widely by her loyal customers. Many new customers knew about this legend coffee shop and tracked down the address of Mrs. Hương Mai just to buy a small pack of coffee. Since then, with the highly appreciated reputation and prestige in the coffee business, the name of Huongmai Café is widely known not only from local Vietnamese but also from the Europeans, Asians, Americans and Australians.
Our goal is to become an independent traditional coffee roaster who provides quality products with reasonable price. 35 years after the 1st day Huongmai Café was found, we are still running under the system that was initially created by Mrs. Huong Mai to maintain the old good traditional roasting method. We also focus on choosing the best coffee beans from all over the country to deliver a quality and tasty coffee product to our customers.
Regarded as Hanoi oldest coffee roaster, we grow old with this city. Come to Huongmai Café, you will have a chance to enjoy the finest coffee bean from beans that seem to be too familiar coffee drinker, but it doesn’t mean that we could not surprise you with the smell and taste of those coffee, which is strictly selected and high-skill roasted. What seem to be too mainstream, you will find it in a brand new ocean. From the normal one like Culi-Arabica or Moka, Traditional to the high-class one like the famous Weasel Coffee or Kopi Luwak from Indonesia … Each package produced out by Huongmai is always carefully packed and perfectly sealed to make the coffee at its best even after your long travel distance.
